Kids at KAM

We all know KAM gets some amazing opportunities for our older talent, but did you know we also get more than just extra work for our Youth Talent too?

In this article, let's go over a few of the awesome jobs some of our youth talent have done over the years at KAM!

Katie in Meghan (1&2)
KAM's very own Katie had the incredible opportunity to work on the iconic set of hit movies Meghan 1 and Meghan 2.0. Katie was the stand in for American actress, Violet McGraw, who plays Cady in the first movie and also parts of Meghan herself! She was also called back to be her body double in Meghan 2.0 - how amazing right?!

Bonnie for Forgive us All
Playing a young girl, Matty, who gets possessed in this zombie themed movie, is KAM's very own, Bonnie! Filming in Queenstown and the Central Otago regions, this movie is an epic adventure, packed full of action and adrenaline! Bonnie plays the main character, Rory's, daughter, Matty, who is killed by her own zombie infected father - pretty intense stuff! I checked in with Bonnie to ask her about the shoot, this is what she had to say!
'My mum and I had such an amazing time in Queenstown while I was filming Forgive Us All. I got to see lots of cool sets and beautiful views, and everyone in the cast and crew was really kind. I learned a lot and had so much fun. I’m really grateful I got to be part of it!

Alfie for DVS
We often get briefs from production companies looking for children to feature in various TV Commercials! This time, youth talent, Alfie scored a great gig, featuring as a main talent in this recent DVS commercial! His behind the scenes content is awesome and he did such a great job acting in it! Have you seen this ad on your TV at all?

Aeon and Cyan for Sweet Tooth
Have you watched any of the seasons of Sweet Tooth yet? If so, did you happen to spot either Cyan or Aeon who were chosen to be series regulars on the show?! I asked them to share a bit of their experience on set, this is what they had to say!

Aeon (cast as hybrid twin Anna rabbit)

Being cast for a role in Sweet Tooth was such a cool experience. I really liked my character's wardrobe and prosthetics, especially seeing how much detail went into creating all the characters and getting everything right for each scene. Filming in the studio and in several different outdoor locations was always new and exciting, and the night shoots were also really fun. I enjoyed working alongside the more experienced cast and the professionalism of both actors and the crew was inspirational. and the wrap parties were definitely one of the highlights, because again as a group but in a more relaxed environment we got to celebrate all the hard work we all put into filming. Seven months passed like seven weeks and I felt sad when it ended. We made wonderful friends that we still stay in contact with. Work hard, be yourself and be kind both on and off set.

Cyan (cast as hybrid twin Hanna rabbit)

My experience on the set of Sweet Tooth was such an amazing and unforgettable time with so many good memories. Being Hanna meant I spent hours each day being transformed in prosthetics and wardrobe, so cool to continually see my character come to life. One of my favorite parts was getting to meet the cast and crew and seeing how everyone worked together behind the scenes to create the show. I got to see everything from filming and camera setups to makeup, costumes, and of course special effects. Some of the scenes were especially incredible, including huge explosions and many dangerous looking stunts. Cast and crew previews with delicious catering were also such a fun part of my time on set. Most importantly for my sister and I, be thoughtful and respectful on set, always give it your best and learn from every opportunity presented.

What an amazing experience - especially to be able to do it all with your own twin sister!

Jeremiah in 'Raised by Refugees'
This was an awesome opportunity for KAM Youth actor, Jeremiah, who featured as a reoccurring guest character on this NZ Television series! Jeremiah starred as Kevin, one of the best friends of main character, Pax. He worked on the show between 2022-2023 and featured in a total of eight episodes! Maeve for Sonnie NZFW
Along with film and television work, our young talent also get incredible opportunities in the modelling world too! For example, check out Maeve who has now walked in both the 2025 and 2026 Sonnie show at New Zealand Fashion Week! Amazing work Maeve!!

Blair, Lily and Israel for Fishing Date
We were lucky enough to have all three of the lead talent in this short film come from our KAM books! This short film features two boys who decide to skip school to go fishing, but things don't go quite as planned when the love interest of one of the boys shows up unexpectedly. I can imagine filming would have been a whole lot of fun for our youngsters!

Ontop of these amazing jobs we've worked on, we are always receiving briefs for still shoots, TV Commercials and so many other jobs for our young talent! We are always so proud of our young talent who dedicate so much time, effort and energy into the work they get at KAM - keep it up team!
