Why photos/profile updates are important
Every year or two, team will be in touch about booking you for a photo/profile update, we tend to get lots of questions about why this is neccessary (especially adults) as you might think you haven't changed at all and it's not important that you come in! However, profile updates are so important in this industry. Often times, production chooses you from your look, so if you arrive to set and look completely different to your photos there is a chance you may no longer be suitable for the shoot, resulting in wasted time and potential delays for filming!
Updating your profiles ultimatley helps you get booked for work but helps also helps us put you forward for more work. If you have not let us know that something has changed in your appearance then you might actually miss out on jobs that you qualify for. It is extremely important that kids come in every year to get their photos and measurements redone, as production will only select kids with updated profiles.
Not just photos/measurements need updating but we also need to re check over your details to make sure everything is correct!
Down below are some examples of things you SHOULD inform us about if they have changed! but also things are good to have updated on your profile.
PHOTOS:
HAIR: It is SUPER important to get in touch with us if anything drastic happens to your hair. this is a big feature to every individual and has a huge part to play when productions are selecting talent. Drastic changes could include hair colour, hair cuts or hair growth!
CLEAN/PRESENTABLE: Remember that your photos are what represent you in this industry! Looking clean and tidy shows us and production how committed you are to putting your best self forward. Having grubby clothing, messy hair ect isn't professional and makes you look unappealing
BRACES: If you have had braces removed or put on we must know so we can take a new photo of you smiling!
COSMETIC CHANGES: If you've had any drastic cosmetic procedures where you feel like you look a lot different, at your own discretion, it is best to come in and get new photos taken
MEASUREMENTS:
its always good to have your measurements and clothing size correct so production can be prepared for fittings ect. This is extremely important for kid who are constantly growing in height and sizing. As well as for our models as designers sometimes scout for an exact measurement from our books to fit thier designs.
CONTACT DETAILS:
PHONE NUMBERS/EMAIL: We contact you by the number and email you used when signing up. If either of these have changed you MUST let us knows as you will not only miss out on job opportunities, but it also makes it super difficult for us to get in touch with you if we need to.
ADDRESS/LOCATION:
If you have moved towns or addresses let us know as some jobs might be closer to where you now are. If your address has changed then you might be missing out on work! For example, sometimes we may need talent who live close to the set where production are filming if a talent is unable to make it and we need to replace them at the last minute.
AVAILABILTY
ON HOLIDAY/AWAY: If you're going to be out of town for a while, let us know so that we know not to put you forward for jobs. Just make sure you let us know when you'll be back so we can resume reaching out with any jobs we have suitable for you to apply for!
BABY BUMPS: If you're pregnant then we can put you forward for shoots where production are looking for pregnant women (if any arised!) But its also good to let us know so we can hold off putting you forward for other work until you feel better to start up again.
In this industry its so important to keep in constant communication with us when these things change. This is working relationship so we do expect you to keep us informed! but most importantly it helps your chances of being chosen!
