How to Be A Great Talent @ KAM
Being a talent agent means juggling 100 different jobs at once, so when we have talent who make our lives easier - trust me, we notice!
We recently posted a video on our Tik Tok giving you all tips on how to be a great talent and we can tell you guys listened up!! Lets go over some of our best tips to follow in order to stand out to the agents here at KAM!
1. Communication is key!
Just like most things in life, communication is key when it comes to being with KAM! This includes replying to availability checks if you are 100% available for the job you've been sent, replying to a call time email/text AS SOON as you receive one, keeping us in the loop if you're running late to set or if something has popped up and you are no longer available for a shoot you have been confirmed for - you NEED to contact us ASAP!! The earlier we know, the better for both us and production! This was we can prepare and get a plan put into place to solve the issue. Communication also means letting us know if you will be away so we don't send you emails during this time - this saves us time so we don't try and contact you while you are not available for work, and also saves you from being bombarded by emails and messages from us.
2. Reliability!
Upon signing with KAM, our recruiter would have explained just how important it is that our talent are reliable and can be depended on - especially when they are booked for a job! It is super frustrating for both us and production when talent do not show up to a shoot or are late with no communication - so you must be a super reliable and flexible individual to be on our books. These are simple little things such as ensuring you have reliable transport before accepting or applying for a job, ensuring you have read through call sheets thoroughly and properly and know 100% what is required of you on the day of the shoot and what time you are needed, planning out what time you need to leave to head to set in regards to traffic and just making sure you are 100% sure on a job before accepting it. Reliable talent are our favourite - they make ours and productions job a million times easier and less stressful!
3. Available at late notice!
This is a tip that we totally understand not everyone can follow, but just know that if you are able to jump on set at really late notice, we really appreciate you! We have no shows and late cancellations all the time and the wonderful talent who are able to make their way to set to fill in truly are the best! This being said, we totally understand most people work full time jobs and are unable to make this work, but for those of you who are able to and do, thank you so much!!! Your hard work and dedication doesn't go unnoticed!
4. Keeping up with KAM!
We have been super active on our social media platforms in the last couple of years and really appreciate all of our incredible talent who constantly like, share, comment and engage with our content! Especially those who take tips from our videos and apply them to their work with KAM - for example, we have heard from a few folk that our 'How to Film and Self-tape' video really came in handy for them - this made us so happy to hear as we realised the content we are creating each day is helping our talent become the best they can which helps us feel confident to submit you all for work each day! A full circle moment, really!
5. Passion!
There is nothing more special to us than when we hear from talent who are genuinely super excited and passionate about what they get to do through KAM! It really is such a special and different industry and we are so lucky to be able to work with such a huge bunch of folk who are genuinely excited and passionate about being on set. From the countless behind-the-scenes photos and videos we receive to the emails from talent thanking us for their first every experience on set - we never get sick of hearing how much fun you all have on set each week! Please keep it up - it truly makes our day!
