How to become an Actor at KAM

So you want to work on Hollywood films, and possibly become the next Matt Damon or Angelina Jolie? Well it looks like you've come to the right article!!

Let's chat about the ways you can work your way up at KAM and be placed in our actors division. There are different requirements for adults and children wanting to be in our Actors Division - let's go over them both!

For Adults:
There are a few things we need from you in order to be considered for this division. Starting with a showreel! A showreel is a compilation of previous work put together to showcase your skill and range as an actor. For those that do not have previous work, you can perform monologues or scenes from any workshops and or training and use that instead! Make sure you showcase your range of skills and acting abilities in your footage. This is super important as production companies love to see a variety of skills and range from talent - this way they know you are capable of being a great actor/actress! We are always happy to help if you have any questions about creating your showreel!

Next up, professional photos. You must have professional headshots to be considered. These must be standard acting headshots taken by a professional photographer, not modelling shots.I have added a few examples of the type of photo we need from you for your portfolio! If you are unsure whether the photos you have are suitable, please reach out and ask one of the team!

Lastly, experience! This requirement will be optional in some cases, but we do expect our Actors to be continuously looking at ways to upskill. Taking classes or completing workshops shows you are serious about being and Actor as well as will provide you with key training that will assist you with auditions and help you get selected by Casting. We have a video on our social media going over all of the Acting classes and Workshops we recommend to our talent, feel free to have a look around for yourself and choose a class that aligns with you and your lifestyle.

For Youth Talent:
Our KAM Kids Acting section is slightly different to our adult section. We will add kids to this section based on experience and or feedback from Agents as well as Casting. We will also opt to add Kids into this division who have secured roles that make them eligible to be listed as an Actor.There is only one requirement for kids who are in this division, and that is having professional photos! Just like the adults, the photos must be professional acting headshots and not modelling style photos - I have also attached some examples of those to this article!

We also have a couple of suggestions but not requirements for the youth division - these are not required but we do highly suggest them for your child!

Showreel – If your child has anything that can be placed into a showreel, we highly recommend that you create one for them to add to their portfolio!

Training and Experience - This is a great way to boost your child's confidence and get them used to being in a group. We also suggest searching local Theatre/ Acting groups like Tapac etc more so for kids. Anyone under 5 we dont recommend, too young, just get them in a group class of any sort like dance etc, anything where they can earn direction and gain confidence!
