NZFW Casting 2026
This weekend just gone, our models were invited to take part in the Final NZ Fashion Week casting for 2026. Taking place on the ground floor of Westfield Newmarket, our models had one chance to leave an impression on the judges and hopefully get selected to walk for one of the incredible designers in their shows next month! KAM Agent, Molly, went along to check out the action herself and cheer on our models!
We had a huge number of 74? models on the list for this casting, and from the content we have seen, those who attended, did a fabulous job! It's a huge thing to not only walk in front of other models and judges, but to also add in a live crowd (reminder, this was peak lunchtime at one of Auckland's busiest malls on a Saturday), we think you are all amazing for even showing up! I asked a few of them for a little insight into the casting and their experience, let's check out what they all had to say!
Luke Thompson:
'The casting was an amazing experience and a great opportunity. The atmosphere was both professional and welcome, which made it easy to feel confident and enjoy the process. It was great to meet other models and industry professionals and experience the energy of such an exciting event. I really appreciated the opportunity and the team's efforts in creating such a positive experience!'
Jared Frost:
'Attending the NZFW casting was such an amazing experience, full of high energy and great community. I was so thankful to be there with KAM, as I saw so many damiliar faces and it quickly turned into a space where we were all hyping each other up and cheering one another on. I really needed that becausde when I realised the casting was happening right in the middle of Newmarket Westfield, the nerves definitely kicked in. But honestly, that's what made it such a cool experience. Seeing shoppers clap for the models gave me a little taste of the energy that comes with walking a runway. Needless to say ... I want more!
Mustafa Wesal:
'I was really happy with the casting experience. Everyone was so welcoming, professional and made me feel comfortable and confident!'
Kritika Anita
'Casting month for NZFW has been very exciting! It's taught me to put myself out there, be courageous and do things that make my heart beat faster. I've reminded myself to enjoy the process and trust that what's meant for me, will be. Grateful for KAM's support on this journey!'
Abby Jaques
' As it was my first casting, it was an incredibly positive experience. The team created such a welcoming and professional environment, which made it easy to feel comfortable and confident. It was also lovely getting to meet and soend time with other KAM models. It was a valuable opportunity to gain experience, learn more about the casting process and continue growing within the industry.'
We are crossing our fingers and toes that we have some of our models selected by designers! It was so much fun last year to be able to attend NZFW and watch our models walk - so here's to hopefully another busy season!
